Fur Sporran

The Fur Sporran (Scottish Gaelic for 'purse') is a traditional part of Scottish Highland dress.
Since the traditional kilt does not have pockets, the fur sporran serves as a wallet and container for any other necessary personal items.
The fur on a sporran can range from rabbit fur, badger fur, beaver fur, fox fur, raccoon fur and even skunk fur, yes I said skunk. These sporrans are a great for the man that loves the wild, it compliment your highland attire. The fur sporran is used for all formal gatherings, weddings, dinners and celebrations.
It is worn on a chain or hung from a kilt belt, conventionally lying in front of the groin of the wearer. It is commonly thought that the sporran primary or secondary use is to keep the front apron of the kilt down , while running or on a windy day. Its was originally used as the name states a “purse” or pocket, and as protection of the “central area” of the wearer.
